Our Commitment to Privacy

Unica respects the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of the people and communities we serve. This policy explains how Unica collects, uses, and protects information through its public-facing websites.

Unica Behavioral Health and Unica Adoption Services are public-facing names used by the legal entity Unica. This policy applies to unicabh.org, unicaadoptionservices.org ,  and other Unica websites that link to this page.

This website policy does not replace Unica’s Notice of Privacy Practices or another notice that applies to clinical, substance-use, adoption, child-welfare, employment, or other protected records. When a more specific notice applies, that notice governs the information covered by it.

Information We Collect

We may collect information you choose to provide, including your name, contact information, messages, service or referral inquiries, event registrations, communication preferences, donation information, employment information, and documents submitted through an approved form.

Our websites may also collect limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser or device type, referring page, pages visited, date and time, and cookie or similar identifiers. The information collected depends on the website features and preferences you use.

How We Use and Share Information

Unica may use website information to respond to requests, provide information about services, process registrations or donations, send requested communications, operate and improve the websites, protect security, and meet legal or contractual obligations.

Information may be shared within Unica with staff who need it to respond or provide a requested service; with vendors that support website, form, payment, communication, or security functions; when required or permitted by law; to protect safety or prevent misuse; or at your direction.

Sensitive Information and Online Forms

Please do not send medical, behavioral-health, substance-use, adoption case, child-welfare case, court, financial-account, or other highly sensitive information through a general contact form or ordinary email. When sensitive information is requested, use the form or secure method identified for that purpose.

Information involving children, young people, families, expectant parents, adoptees, foster parents, and guardians may be confidential even when it is not protected health information under HIPAA. Unica seeks to handle this information in a manner that protects dignity, confidentiality, family and cultural connections, and Tribal sovereignty.

Submitting a website form does not guarantee eligibility, enrollment, placement, an appointment, or another service. The websites and general email accounts are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies. Call 911 for immediate danger. Call or text 988 for 24-hour mental health, emotional, or substance-use crisis support.

Your Choices

You may manage nonessential cookies through the website’s cookie-preference tool, unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message, or contact Unica with a question or request concerning information submitted through the websites. Unica will respond as required by applicable law.

Third Party Services

Our websites may link to or use services provided by others, including form, payment, donation, event, mapping, video, employment, or social media services.
